-Difference between bus-powered version and self-powered version
Please refer to below image on the difference between bus-powered version and self-powered version, in a field application. often there are more than 1 zone to be controlled, suppose you have a system with multiple zones, therefore multiple controllers will be needed, the bus powered version comes with a connector where you can attach it to the slot of the DIN rail, and multiple controllers can be attached to each other via the connector, therefore the 24VDC only have to be feed to one the controllers, both 24VDC and communcation will run through the same bus line. the self-powered version, on the hand, each unit need to draw 24VDC separately and each unit have to be connected in sereial in order to communicate with the master device such as PLC or HMI, please go with bus-powered version which is more popular.
