Maxwell PU90 ramp and soak PID profile multile steps controller is a touch key temperature controller, the process value changed based on predetermined ramping rate and soak rate. process value changes based on a curve over time, the output can be Relay to drive an AC contrator, or SSR Drive to drive an external solid state relay, or 4-20mA analog outputs, the setting keys on the panel is touch key with a responsive sound, it is not a conventional setting key where it goes down a little bit when you push it, it's a touch key which makes it very durable. high sampling rate and RS-485 optional.

Here is an example of how you can program the PU90 ramp and soak controller from your PC by using our free software, hardware needed as below

1)PU90 with RS-485 feature
2)USB to RS-485 adaptor
3)A personal computer(PC)

The curve we are going to cover today has a trajectory as below

Step 1) Curve starts at 100 degree, and takes 60 minutes to heat the system up to 400 degree
Step 2) Temperature of the system stays at 400 for 60 minutes
Step 3) Temperature drops from 400 to 250 within 120 minutes
Step 4) Temperature goes up again from 250 to 300 within 50 minutes
Step 5) Temperature stays at 300 for 180 minutes
Step 6) Temperature drops from 300 to 100 within 200 minutes
Step 7) Temperature stays at 100 for 70 minutes
Step 8) Program terminated.

This is a video tutorial on how you can run a specific profile on PU90 ramp and soak profile PID controller 1) There is a simple heating system in the video consists of solid state relay, a light bulb and temperature controller as well as a PT100 temperature sensor. 2)The program executed in the video is a 6 steps program, starts from 0 degree to 30 degree within 5 seconds, step 2 would be hold the temperature at 30 degree for 3 minutes, step 3 bring the temperature from 30 degree to 50 degree within 5 minutes, Step 5, hold the temperature at 50 degree for 3 minutes, Step 6, increase the temperature from 50 degree to 80 degree within 5 minutes and then program stop right there. 3)You can see over the course of the entire program, the temperature and time are changing as per profile pre-programmed.       Regular PID controller hold the temperature at set point and if nobody changes the set point, it has one fixed setting value at any given time, but ramp and soak controller has a lot of setting point ,and it changes over time, and the ramp up speed and cooling down speed is controllable
    8. How many setpoints (or segments) can I program?
      MPU90 has maximum 30 segments, for multiple profiles, the solution would be use the controller together with human machine interface
    9. What type of inputs does it accept ?
      This controller is a true universal input controller, works with all kinds of thermocouple and RTD inputs as well as analong inputs
    10. What kind of outputs does it have to control my equipment ?
      Output can be Relay, SSR Drive, 4-20mA, 0-10Vdc, Traic, single phase phase firing control
    11. What is the control resolution and accuracy?
      ±0.25% of reading ±1°C
    12. What's the maximum temperature range it can handle ?
      The maximum temperature range depends on the sensor you are using, the maximum temperature your sensor can handle is the miaxmum tempreature our controller can handle, for example, if you are using a Wre5-WRe26 sensor, the maximum temperature is 2300 degree celcuis
    13. Do I need separate software, or can I program it on the front panel?
      You can program it on the front panel, of you can program it on the PC(PC software is available from us), or you can program it from HMI(Human machine interface)
    14. Does it have communication options?
      Yes, Modbus RS-485 is an option for communication, Modbus TCP/IP also available on request.
    15. Can I program events/auxiliary outputs at specific steps ?
      Yes, you can program events of auxiliary outputs at sepcfic steps/segment, by doing this, you can either run a fan or trigger an alarm at the end of the program
    16. What happens if there's a power failure ? Does it resume the program?
      In case of power faliure, the program can be resumed or the controller goes back to starting point, it's all programmable
    17. Does it have built-in ramp-to-setpoint or 'soak start' functions?
      Yes, this controller has a built-in ramp to setpoint function, but it only works for the first segment. this is very useful at the begining of the profile or in the event of a power failure.
    18. How clear is the display? Can I see the program graph, current setpoint, and process value at the same time?
      It's not possible to see the program graph, but it is possible to see the setpoint, current segment which is running on the controller, process value and time left with the current segment
    19. What kind of warranty and technical support do you offer?
